Stay up to date with Global Ties Detroit!
On behalf of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), the Mississippi Consortium for International Development has invited six economic and diplomatic professionals from various countries to meet to learn about financial administration in the global setting. Participants will come to Detroit to review U.S. foreign policy and objectives in the international economic system, including stimulating growth and employment. They will examine international economic cooperation in the context of the growth, support, and integration of emerging markets into the world economy. They will also get to learn how donors and recipients can best assess the variety of funding options for current and future needs while rendering the funding decision process more transparent and effective. The program will allow these professionals to explore the variety of funding mechanisms available for national and local economic development with a focus on the nexus of business opportunities and development priorities. Finally, they will examine current federal, state, and local initiatives in international trade and export promotion, and innovative strategies for regional economic development and competitiveness in the global marketplace.
