Detroit-based journalists and media organizations will meet with their counterparts from India to share their expertise, build relationships, and promote citizen diplomacy with the following objectives: 

- Highlight the importance of investigative journalism and fact-checking in countering misleading information;

- Explore the contradictory role of social media and new technologies in fostering and/or hindering national, regional, local, and individual security;

- Discuss innovative approaches to build trust between the media, law enforcement, and citizens.
