Stay up to date with Global Ties Detroit!
The Open World Program is a unique, nonpartisan initiative administered by the Congressional Office for International Leadership (COIL) and American Council for International Education that builds mutual understanding between the emerging global leaders and their U.S. counterparts. It also exposes delegates to ideas and practices they can adapt for use in their own work. The programming is focused on group meetings, seminars and round-table discussions. Delegates participate in a range of social and cultural activities and stay in the homes of volunteer hosts in Metro Detroit, enhancing their understanding of life and culture in the United States. The 6-member delegation from Ukraine will explore best practices for veteran integration, including topics in health, housing, education, and employment.
