Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, six (6) women law officials from India will visit Detroit to engage with senior U.S. female law enforcement counterparts to discuss the leadership challenges for women in law enforcement, exchange practices, and develop strategies to address current and emerging criminal issues. These women will be exploring ways to help develop a cohort of mid- to-senior-level women leaders in Indian law enforcement, who are equipped with the leadership, management tools, and network to sustain their success. They will have opportunities to meet with women working in law enforcement, attend meetings to discuss strategies to attract more women in law enforcement, and meet with representatives to share and learn ways to reduce the current and emerging criminal issues that are affecting women and children.
