    Edward R. Murrow Program for Journalists: Media Responsibility in an Age of Disinformation II

    Bangladesh, Barbados, Canada, Chile, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, Iraq, Jamaica, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Qatar, Republic of Turkiye, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, and Sri Lanka

    Global Ties Detroit will be partnering with the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and American Councils for International Education to host a multiregional project Media Responsibility in an Age of Disinformation. Twentyfour (24) news media professionals and journalist will be participating in this program to study ways to combat disinformation in journalism. The objective of this program is to examine efforts at the federal, state, and local levels to counter the dissemination of disinformation and misleading reporting and introduce and provide broad exposure to the serious impact of the current threat posed by disinformation and deceptive news. During their stay in metro-Detroit these professionals will also be visiting various fact checking organizations, attend briefings with experts on the best methods for discerning misinformation and fostering reliable sources of information, and visit universities.
