Best Practices to Improve Food Security
Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, and Uganda
Global Ties Detroit will be welcoming ten (10) English-speaking professionals from the African Union Commission taking part in the International Visitor Leadership program sponsored Meridian International administered program Best Practices to Improve Food Security. These ten delegates are visiting from Ethiopia and South Africa developing strategies to increase domestic financing for food security and nutrition programs. The objective of this program is to secure greater political commitment and investment in nutrition to address ongoing challenges. This program offers the opportunity for the United States to both support the African Union in their thematic year endeavor while addressing mutual strategic goals, such as promoting growth, trade, and investment; enhancing global health security; and promoting opportunity, development, and climate change counter measures
