    Global Ties Detroit Welcomes John Zervos to Board of Directors

    Global Ties Detroit is pleased to announce the addition of John Zervos, Founding Executive Director of the Henry Ford Global Health Initiative (GHI), as its newest Board Member. John Zervos's background includes over 10 years of leadership at Henry Ford Health, as well as an extensive history in the non-profit sector. Before his tenure at Henry Ford Health, Zervos served as the Vice-Chair of Detroit’s Free Legal Aid Clinic (FLAC) while he was enrolled in law school. The Detroit Free Legal Aid Clinic is a Detroit-based non-profit that provides free legal aid to low-income victims of domestic violence and the elderly.

She also spoke about our upcoming TechGirls program that we are hosting in collaboration with Legacy International.

    Global Ties U.S. 2024 National Meeting: a First-Timer’s Experience

    This past March, I headed to Arlington, VA with my fellow Global Ties Detroit staff and Board Members to attend the Global Ties U.S. 2024 National Meeting. I’ve been with GTD for two years now, but as a National Meeting newbie, I got to take everything in and was mesmerized by how sizable the Global Ties network is (more than 600 members were in attendance!), as well as by how incredibly passionate my fellow network members are about citizen diplomacy.
