Promoting Social Change Through the Arts, A Project for Belarus is a program through The International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP). This project’s goal is to promote the freedom of artistic expression, examining the link between cultural engagement and community well-being by focusing on the arts as a vehicle for promoting social change. Three (3) visitors from Belarus will participate in this program, examining the role of art education while encouraging young people to be responsible and engaged members of society. These participants will visit art centers, local governmental and non-governmental organizations supporting arts as well as community-supported arts programs to examine the various ways in which the arts can convey identity, creativity, belief systems and tolerance inclusion within American society.
