International leaders meet to examine the local, state, and federal park and protected area management systems; trends in biodiversity conservation and wildlife management; and sustainable tourism standards and practices. They will illustrate the range of services, infrastructure, concessions, and tourist information in parks and at natural attractions and discuss how communities provide input for planning for tourism development. They will also explore collaboration among field experts and local communities on the roles of different levels of government and the private sector in biodiversity preservation, parks and protected areas management, and tourism facility development; and examine how cities, states, and the federal government protect and conserve biodiversity while roads, railways, office and apartment buildings, and other housing are planned and being built.
