October 4th-8th, 2016
This US State Department-sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is for 9 musicians and cultural educators from the Middle East & North Africa looking into "Engaging Youth through Music".
These leaders look forward to understanding best practices that illustrate the role of music as it relates to constitutionally guaranteed free speech and its power and potential to shape contemporary values and build civil society. They hope to explore the diversity and roots of distinctively American genres of music, including rap/hip‑hop, jazz, blues, and rock while illustrating how this contributes to a dynamic social system.
