Global Public Health Challenges is a International Visitors Leadership Program sponsored, Meridian International Center administered program hosting public health officials from the Western Hemisphere. This project supports the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA), which is a network of countries, international and non-governmental organizations, and private sector companies that are working to minimize the emergence and spread of infectious diseases. These delegates will be examining key practices to manage wide spread diseases, combating disinformation and misinformation, medical response preparedness, and strategies for working with international partners during a pandemic. This project includes site visits to local health health facilities, discussions, meetings with national associations, and meetings with community-based organizations responding to certain health concerns.
