Stay up to date with Global Ties Detroit!
On behalf of the U.S. Embassy in London and the U.S. Department of State, four (4) policy advisors and directors from the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom will be meeting with foreign affairs resources in Detroit to explore the themes of border security and economic activity, and cross-border cooperation on trade and environment.
The goals of the exchange program include: familiarizing the participants with Biden Administration priorities relating to the United Kingdom and Ireland; exploring the roles of Congress and civil society in U.S. foreign policy formation; studying the U.S.-Canada border as an example of balancing border security with the free flow of people and trade; and discussing cross-border collaboration at the local level on issues such as economic activity and environmental protection.
