Advancing Influence of Women in Public Policymaking is a FHI 360 administered program designed to provide young Bengali women with the opportunity to learn more about policy and advocacy strategies seeking to elevate women at federal, state, and local levels of government. We are excited to be hosting 6 (six) Bangladeshi women legislators and staffers to impart insights on advancement in the U.S. of women in policymaking and policy implementation roles. The objective of this program is to bring awareness to these participants and show them the representation of women in government and political parties in the U.S. Women in Bangladesh are underrepresented in government and political parties and this program will allow these women to learn how U.S. branches of government work together to promote women's rights and gender equality. They will also meet with women politicians serving in city councils, state legislatures, and the U.S. Congress.
