Ed Clemente has been to over 80 countries spanning six continents. While traveling, the official announcement of the New 7 Wonders of the World was declared, and Ed inadvertently found himself at one of the selected sites and took part in the ensuing celebration fiesta! Ed then realized that, unknowingly, he had already been to 6 out of 7 Wonders, and soon completed the visit to the 7th New Wonder! He will speak about these serendipitous travels, his visits to three of the Ancient 7 Wonders of the World, and true stories of street chases, 9/11, chicken bus rides, rugby night court, a shotgun wedding, and his first fiesta.
Ed Clemente is currently a two-term Governor Appointee Michigan Liquor Control Commissioner, working with all businesses that deal with spirits. He also hosts a podcast and is a member of the Workforce Advisors for Wayne County Community College. Clemente garnered many experiences as a State Representative, including leading task forces on electric vehicles, bio-sciences, film industry, Brownfields' economic development, quality of life, and advanced energy. He served as the President of a Chamber of Commerce and was an elected College Trustee. Ed Clemente's career as an educator includes his tenure as instructor of Global Economics and World Customs and Cultures at Northwood University, and high school teacher of geography, history and political science.
