Promoting Gender Equality in the Egyptian Justice System

    Egypt

In August six (6) Egyptian women judges, lawyers, prosecutors, and journalists will be visiting Detroit taking part in the IVLP American Councils for International Education program Promoting Gender Equality in the Egyptian Justice System. This project was designed to advance gender equality and the empowerment of women. These six women will participate in meetings, site visits, and activities that focus on women professional development programs, the history and evolution of women in legal professions, and associations that support women legal experts. The main objective of this program is to expose Egyptian female legal professionals to the history of women’s legal participation in the United States and familiarize them with U.S. legal principles in theory and practice.
