Global Ties Detroit will be welcoming five (5) delegates participating in the IVLP Meridian International Center delegation from Tajikistan. This delegation is made up of government officials working in fields consisting of security and border controls. During their stay these government officials will be examining U.S. border and security models and concerns at national, state, and local levels. They will also learn about new technology to control border entry as well as meet with different resources from different agencies to discuss recruitment, manpower, retention, and training. One of their objectives for this program is to examine how their counterparts detect and dismantle international crime stemming from border insecurity, whether human trafficking, drug trafficking, money laundering, or terrorism.
