Global Ties Detroit Welcomes Pam Burneski and Chris Moyer to Board of Directors
    December 13, 2021

Global Ties Detroit is pleased to announce the addition of Pam Burneski, attorney at Morganroth & Morganroth, PLLC in Birmingham and Chris Moyer, Director of Communications at the Detroit Regional Chamber to our Board of Directors.

Pam Burneski handles a wide variety of legal matters with a focus on business and corporate issues, for which she was named a Rising Star and recognized as one of the Top Women Attorneys in Michigan by Super Lawyers in 2021. As a decorated NCAA Division I student athlete, Pam earned her B.A. with double majors in Accounting and Finance (and continued on to earn an M.S. in Accounting) from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University – Bloomington. Moreover, Pam was the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Business and Securities Law and earned her J.D., with honors, from the Michigan State University College of Law in 2017 and also earned a certificate in Alternative Investments from Harvard Business School Online in 2020.

Originally from the suburbs of Vancouver, British Columbia, Pam has always had an interest in citizen diplomacy and the benefits of diversity. Some of her best experiences and largest growth stem from travelling abroad, interacting with different cultures and even being a tourist in her own city. Pam is excited to give back and help facilitate the same opportunities for others, and we are equally excited to welcome her to the Board of Global Ties Detroit!

As the Director of Communications at the one of the largest chambers of commerce in the nation, Chris Moyer leads media relations, communications strategy, and member outreach. The Chamber represents the business interests of a region comprising 5.4 million residents, 11 Fortune 500 companies, and more than 2000 members. The Chamber also executes the statewide automotive and mobility cluster association, MICHauto, and hosts the nationally recognized Mackinac Policy Conference. Additionally, the Chamber leads the most comprehensive education and talent strategy in the state. Chris joined the Chamber in 2020 after spending more than a decade working at the nexus of clean energy, public policy, smart cities, and mobility. Most recently, Chris worked as the Industry Principal for Zpryme Research, a market research, media, and events company based in Austin, Texas. In this role, Chris helped launch the “Cities of Future” research practice and event. He led work on how digital transformation will be the catalyst for renewable energy adoption and a clean energy transition.

As a writer and analyst, he brings industry experience from the U.K., EU, and North America. Early in his career, Chris worked in public affairs and campaign politics for several candidates in Virginia, the U.K, and Colorado as a speechwriter and policy advisor. Chris serves on several boards, including The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) in Detroit, and as Secretary of the Downtown Development Authority for Grosse Pointe.

Chris has been actively engaged in Global Ties Detroit exchange programs, and most recently met with a Canadian delegation and gave insights into the inner workings of the Detroit Regional Chamber, and strategies for effective communication, especially as it relates to public policy, government collaboration, media, and grassroots activism.

Welcome, Pam and Chris! We are looking forward to sharing your skills and expertise to expand our reach and continue connecting Detroit with the world.
