    South Africa

    Cross Border Trade

Global Ties Detroit will take part in a virtual U.S. Department of State project to provide opportunities for South African delegates to examine methods used to identify bottlenecks and to measure and determine delays and
transit times at commercial border posts in the U.S. and understand the role of nongovernmental organizations in promoting highway safety and enforcing safety regulations. Many of the U.S. companies that operate in South Africa and use the country as a springboard have complained to the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service about time delays and costs to export to the region due to inefficiencies at border crossings. This project is designed to help delegates accelerate regulatory changes that improve and streamline trade across borders in the region.
