Lou Fintor is a U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Officer currently serving as Diplomat in Residence for the North Central Region (MI, IN, OH, KY), based at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor's Ford School of Public Policy. Fintor will discuss State Department recruiting efforts in Metro Detroit and the importance of local global and local citizen initiatives, and the Department's Michigan programs including the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) and its partnership with Global Ties Detroit.

Lou Fintor, a native Detroiter, joined the foreign service in 2002 and has served as U.S. Embassy Spokesperson in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, and at the U.S. Mission to NATO in addition to public affairs assignments in Kosovo, Turkey, France, Hungary, Luxembourg, and Bangladesh. He is a graduate of University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, University of California-Berkley, American University, and Detroit's Cass Tech High School.
