    Towards a More Safe and Secure World – Cooperative Efforts in Combating Transnational Crime

    Algeria, Lebanon, Oman, and Tunisia

    Global Ties Detroit will be welcoming eight (8) law enforcement officials from Algeria, Lebanon, Oman, and Tunisia participating in the IVLP Meridian International Center project  Cooperative Efforts in Combating Transnational Crime for the Indo-Pacific and SCA. During their stay this delegation will be exploring the role of law enforcement and prosecutorial authorities at the federal, state, and local levels to detect, investigate, and prosecute various transnational crimes, such as financial and organized crimes, the trafficking and smuggling of people and goods, and terrorism. They also will be exploring initiatives that identify and address root causes of crime, through participating in meetings as well as attending site visits.
