Global Ties Detroit will be hosting the IVLP MCID Preventing Domestic and Gender Based Violence delegation from Kazakhstan focused on advancing human and civil rights and examining cutting edge techniques for working with both the victim and the abuser to address ongoing, and difficult problems within domestic violence. This delegation is made up of seven (7) human rights advocates, psychologists, and court representatives that are survivors of gender based violence aiming to work with victims of domestic and gender based violence cases as well as abusers. They will also be reviewing best practices to prevent gender-based violence through programs that educate abusers and raise consciousness about abuse. Some of the initiatives that they will be exploring will focus on women’s legal rights, the responsibility of men and boys to avoid perpetuating gender-based violence, as well as combating trafficking.
