Latin America: Bolivia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Uruguay, and Venezuela

Addressing the Needs of At-Risk Youth To Promote Resilient Communities

This US State Department-sponsored International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is for 15 youth advocates from Bolivia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Uruguay, and Venezuela exploring at risk youth.

The delegations program from Detroit, MI will examine primary prevention programs for at risk youth, explore the efforts of the community to intervene before early problem behaviors (ages 7-14) escalate, highlight support services for gang involved youth and their families to help youth make positive choices, and examine reentry programs for gang members recently released from prison.
